Dig in so you can branch out

CAST’S philosophy is, there is no separation between the mind and the body; we are comprised of one unified system, a system whose health is defined by connection and by communication. The CAST program supports healing by focusing on the integrity of the unified whole.
— Aliah Whitmore

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) meets three days per week for two group therapy session per day, along with a one-on-one weekly session with a primary therapist. Our staff is committed to helping clients uncover and work through underlying issues. As our clients gain insight about their individual strengths and challenges, they are guided to develop healthier coping strategies.

Clients with substance use disorders will be randomly drug tested to ensure that sobriety is maintained and that the CAST environment remains safe and healthy for everyone.

Length of stay at CAST’s IOP is dependent on each clients individual needs.

Standard IOP Services:

+ Individual Counseling

Private, one-on-one time to focus on particularly salient and challenging topics. Our individual counselors guide clients in addressing both the overt and less obvious issues of life-limiting conditions, providing the greatest potential for growth. We draw from many therapeutic modalities to create a customized, integrative experience for our clients.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Somatic Experiencing (SE)
  • Differentiation of Self
  • Existential and Humanistic Therapy
  • Twelve Steps
  • Philosophy and Spirituality
  • Mindfulness and Meditation

+ Group Therapy

Group therapy offers the chance for small groups of clients to meet regularly in a safe, comfortable space where talking, sharing, interacting, and discussing problems is facilitated and guided by a therapist. While guiding the group in self-discovery, the therapist also encourages group interaction. Many find that interacting in a group setting is more natural than one-on-one counseling and it affords participants the chance to experience empathy for group members and to release the notion that they are alone in their struggles. Feedback from group members allows for compassion, constructive suggestions, insights, and a sense of camaraderie to develop and aid the healing process.

+ Help for Families

The mission of the Family Day Program is to provide a hopeful, supportive and educational space for our clients’ loved ones. Through education, we aim to destigmatize mental health and addiction treatment. Through support, we aim to empower loved ones to begin their own healing process. Our program is open to the family members and partners of CAST Centers current clients and alumni.
